The Double-O crit is back, we’ll be doing the race in Sunny Bay, with the same course. However this time it will be a TEAM RELAY. Which means you’ll be racing with a partner to win your victory.

香港島一周 ｜Hong Kong Island Loop

今年は全然ライドしてないけれど内容的には濃いかも、、、
今年4回目のライドが香港島一周、、、ロードでも難しいコースをピストでチャレンジ、、、
勿論歩いたセクションも多いけれど、、、坂がとにかく急な場所が少しあり
４０ｋｍ＋というコース、、、坂のぼった後のダウンヒルは最高！！！
ライドをオーガナイズしたDou-Gea、IanとFrankieに感謝！
そしてナビゲートしたBrian Kにもビガッ！！！
次回が楽しみ、、、下半身チョ～～～筋肉痛、、、

So this year, I hardly rode but the times I rode, it more than makes up for the lack of rides...
This is the fourth time I ride this year and we went on the Hong Kong Island loop...
It is difficult for road bike but we went on our fixed to see how we go...
Of course there were parts we just had to walk and the hills were mad steep in some parts.
The course was 40km+ but the feeling of going downhill after a long climb is just awesome!!!
Props to Dou-Gea, Ian and Frankie who organised the ride!
Big ups to Brian K for navigating as well!!!
Looking forward to the next one but for now my legs are killing...

Small Actions, Big Difference

As you know the situation in Japan is not getting any better and basically it is pretty fucked up over there and that is not an understatement. On top of the natural disasters, there are the bad management by both government and TEPCO making the worst situation worse. Despite all this I am still hopeful that Japan will pull through and with the support of people from around the world, it will recover quicker than later.

So to make a long post shorter, I want to suggest a way for all of us to make a small contribution to the recovery of Japan and to help the victims of Japan. It is very simple and it is called Click Donation. Basically you just need to follow the below link and all you need to do is to click on the Help Japan button. And that is it. Once a day, if you click that button a donation of 1 yen will be made on your behalf and you don't even need to make a donation. The key is to keep doing this once a day when you get to office or at your lunch break or when you are checking mail. All it takes it like a minute out of your busy life. We need the constant donation and assistance as the money which was donated initially is drying up fast and this is an easy way to keep donating for the cause. Also if you have a Twitter account then you can do Tweet Donation which is the same thing as well. One click once a day, that is the limit.

You do not need to register or give your personal information (except for the Twitter one, but that is only to link up to Twitter and it does not ask you to fill anything. It takes less than 30 seconds to complete everything) and it is very hassle free. Just try it once and you will see.

やっと時間ができたのでレポします。
Asia Fixed Gear Championship 2011は楽しかった～～
でも暑い！！！ライダーも熱い！！！道が広い！！！
アレーキャットにも参戦して充実、、、
残念ながら１日だけ遊びに行ってきました。

Finally got some time to do a post on this.
Had such a fun time at Asia Fixed Gear Championship 2011...
But it was hot!!! Riders were killin' it!!! Roads were wide!!!
Entered the alley cat too which was good fun...
Unfortunately I could only be there for the first day.

アジアから沢山のライダーが参加しに来ていて
台湾、インドネシア、韓国、北京、上海そして香港と
色々なライダーとも出会えてまたいつか会えるといいな～、、、
が名前はほとんど忘れちゃった、、、

There were loads of riders from Asia and there were riders from Taiwan, Indonesia, Korea, Beijing, Shanghai and of course Hong Kong...
Met some riders from different places and hopefully meet them again next time...
Though I totally forgot their names...

しかも中国のピストシーンはアツイ！
フリースタイルもかなりうまい！ヤッバイ！！！
オーガナイザーのみんなにビガッ！

On top of that the fixed scene in China is huge!
Their freestyle game is on point too!!!

(17th Jan, 2011, Hong Kong) – Above Second is please to present ‘Uprising’ a solo exhibition by Start from Zero (SFZ). This new body of work captures the uncertainty surrounding the future of artist communities in the industrial areas of Hong Kong. ‘Uprising’ will include mixed-media, and sculptures that combine materials including wood, metal sign, vinyl, cements, transforming Above Second to a space reminiscent of the industrial spaces in *Ngau Tau Kok.



SFZ has used the landscape of Hong Kong to reflect on what they believe are unjust social, political and cultural issues. In ‘Uprising’, the focus is on the future of Ngau Tau Kok. Just like Fo Tan, Ngau Tau Kok's industrial space has became a haven for the creative fringe, including artists, musicians, pirate radio stations, tattoo parlors, and honey farm. The huge diversity of creative young talent giving a renewed life to these old warehouses is now under threat from the Government's very 'Hong Kong' unrelenting insistence on 'revitalization' through property development. Any irony is lost in the face of profit-seeking. ‘Uprising’ is a protest.



An admiration and dedication to their fellow radical spirit of neighbors and friends, FM 101, Hidden Agenda, Dirty Boogie, SFZ's created artworks based on each of these subversive heroines. ‘Uprising’, is the everyday struggle for artistic expression in Hong Kong is vibrantly portrayed through the collaborative efforts of these close-knit communities. The loss to Hong Kong if they are destroyed will be self-evident.



起義

是次個展由本地街頭藝術單位 Start from Zero (SFZ) 舉辦，近年香港工業區內的藝術社群孕育了一種新的創作環境，SFZ也是其中一份子。這次SFZ將以香港的環境去反映出他們觀察已久社會文化，個展目的是揭示牛頭角工業區創意社群的未來發展。

就像火炭，觀塘，牛頭角的工業區已成為一個充滿創意的社區，包括藝術家，音樂家，獨立電台，紋身店，甚至還有蜂蜜農場。巨大且具多樣性的創意社群為這些舊式工業大廈提供了不少活力，諷刺的是目前正在威脅這創意社群的卻是香港政府

'活化工廈'的政策，這政策反而吸引不少物業投資者進行投機的買賣，令真正工廈用家的生存空間進一步減少，面臨迫遷的危機。



這次個展'起義'是一種對這政策的抗議。 在個展中包涵了不同的創作媒介.以不同型式表達出藝術社群的構想，Above Second 將成為一個展出這獨特藝術社群的空間, 將這新形成的勢力在這個展展示出他們的創意，希望人們對這得來不易的創作空間有更多的認識也進一步了解香港獨立藝術環境的發展!

でも残念ながらマイアミから帰国して間もなく終わってしまった展示会Mano Y Mano、、、
BayエリアからAaron De La CruzとSamuel Rodriguezのコンビが、、、
超～～～見たかったのに残念！！！
ラッキーなことにJasperが作品を見せてくれたのでまあ満足。

So we accidentally visited Above Second while they were setting this exhibition up before we headed off to Miami...
But unluckily it finished soon after we got back from Miami and we didn't get a chance to see the Mano Y Mano exhibition...
Aaron De La Cruz and Samuel Rodriguez dropped by from the Bay area...
I really really wanted to see the exhibition so I was super sad!!!
Luckily though Jasper showed us some works and am satisfied.

最近っていうか高校生以来オーストラリアの芸術家って全然興味なくて
たまたまThe Cat Street Galleryでオーストラリアの芸術家Paul Daviesの展示会があったのでチェック。
かなりコンテンポラリーな内容でステンシルを使った作品、、、
まだやってるかな？？？是非チェックしてみては、、、

Haven't really been paying attention to Australian artists for ages since high school
And coincidentally The Cat Street Gallery had an exhibition by Aussie artist named Paul Davies so we went to check it out.
It was very contemporary and the works were created using stencils...
It might be still on...??? So check it out if it is...

さ～てとやっとブログアップする時間ができたのでどんどんアップしようと思います。
ここ1ヶ月は鬼忙しくてどこから話をはじめればいいのやら、、、
がArt HK 2011はスゴ～ク面白かった、、、
かなり成長して沢山のドープな作品を拝見しました。
写真に撮りきれないほどだったけれどFlickrに気に入ったのをアップしましたのでチェックしてみてください、、、
有名なアーティストが沢山いたなか無名アーティストがツボだったかも、、、

There are so many things that happened in the last month or so and I have no idea where to begin... But the best place to start might be Art HK 2011.
It was bigger and better and had so many great artworks...
