Save Southbank | サウスバンクを救え

Amongst skaters it is well known that Southbank is the famous skate spot in England. In the 90s when I was a kid skating everyday after school and on weekends, taking buses and trains to different spots and enjoying skating. At that time I remember seeing Southbank on 411VM and other publications. It made an impression on me to see skaters like Tom Penny or Carl Shipman rip up that spot... It is a spot with banks and stairs...

Anyway to cut the long story short, apparently this spot will be changed into a shopping area. This info is taken straight from Andrew Bunney and you can sign the below petition to let your opinions be heard.

Also they will be showing the film 'Save Southbank' in response to the uncertain future of the South Bank. Join the premier at the Prince Charles Cinema, 7 Leicester Place (Leicester Square tube) on the 7th of February at 7.45pm.

It is free entry but make sure to get the tickets before hand at Slam City Skates!

イギリスの有名なスケートスポットと言えばSouthbank(サウスバンク)だと言うことはスケーターなら当然知っていると思う。９０年代、少年の俺は毎日のように学校を終えるとスケートに行っていた。週末は一日中バスや電車に乗って色々なスポットをスケートして楽しんでいた。そのとき４１１VMなどを見るとイギリスでスポットライトを浴びていたスポットがSouthbankだったことを覚えている。Tom PennyやCarl Shipmanがスケートしていたのが印象的だったバンクとステアがおもなスポットである。

話が長引いてしまったがこのスポットが近日ショッピングエリアになってしまうとのこと。これはAndrew Bunneyがアップした情報で下記の嘆願書にサインすれば意見が届くかもしれない。

gramSE | グラムSE

Swedish shoe brand gram has released the next style called gramSE which is boots like and looks dope... It has so many functions and features I can't really write here but out favourite is the 'Fresh seal' yellow print on the out sole. The paint will fade off as you wear the out sole. It's important to have these type of FUN integrated into design.

Garageworks Industries | ガレージワークス インダストリース

It feels like the street scene in Hong Kong is pretty much non existant but there are some underground guys making moves. It is not often I come across them but when I do come across them, they have a different vibe to the other normal Hong Kongers. Such person is Mr Link, part owner of Garageworks Industries. They have inhouse brands Made By Monsters and Matic which produces hard core apparel and figures....

The pics above are collab items with Jim Phillips, who is known for his old school skate graphics and Johnny Ace Studio, which is known for air brushing in the hot rod scene.

Next up on the collab list is Ron English so be on the look out for those as it will be dope and I can't wait to see what will be droppin! Keep an eye on these guys and their movements! What's up Mr Link and Chris!!!

Mini alleycat | ミニ アレーキャット

Blade Runner!? | ブレード ランナー!?

The night time in Hong Kong reminds me of Bladerunner... Super high rise, neon lights, neon lights, neon lights (no neons on this pic :P) and abundance of people... The air is super polluted too.

香港の夜景はなんとなくブレードランナーを思い出させてくれる。超高層ビル、ネオン、ネオン、ネオン(この写真にはネオンはないけど、、、笑)と人ごみ、、、空気もそうとう悪いです。

Silly Thing/Undercover HK | シリー シング/アンダーカバー 香港

The big boys of urban culture in Hong Kong is Silly Thing/Think Silly crew... They run some tight operation with tight affiliations like Milk Magazine (Hong Kong's weekly urban culture magazine), comme des garcons and Undercover... The Silly Thing store is in a remote place called Chai Wan on the Hong Kong island side and couple shops down is Undercover. We took a trek to check it out... Some random pics of the neighbourhood included...

Nissan GTR | 日産GTR

The almighty Nissan GTR was just chillin in a show room in Wan Chai... These are not even released outside of Japan but someone in Hong Kong had imported it for a cool HK$1 million...

By far the dopest GTR and the salesman told me it's got about 500hp under the hood... Yes it's twin turbo too... Pure dope!
