Warp Magazine

Most of you out there know about Warp Magazine from Japan. It has been one of my favourite magazine for some time and they always drop the hottest articles and interviews. Copped the December issue and it's got dope coverage of military style and nice articles about internet and street culture with Honeyee and Zozotown. If you have never picked up a copy then next time you see one, cop it!

多分Warpの事は日本人なら知ってると思うけど、このマガジンは最近の個人的なフェイバリット。理由はまず内容が濃い、毎号おもしろい記事とインタビューがぎっしり詰まってる。12月号もミリタリースタイルの特集とストリートカルチャーとネットの関係をハニカムとZozotownが語ってくれた。ワープを一度も読んだことが無ければ是非お勧めします。

Packages

It's always good to receive packages and seems like it's early Christmas for me! First package was from Insa and his dope work with Fuel Girls on the 2008 calendar... Let's just say that the content is 18+ only and very Insa indeed. Thanks and keep up the dopeness!!!

小包を貰うのって毎回ワクワクして個人的にとっても好きなんだよね。今回もクリスマスが早く来たような感じで凄くうれしかった！１つ目は前回紹介したInsa(インサ)とFuel Girls(フューエル ガールズ)のコラボカレンダー、、、中身は超ヤバイし18歳未満には見せられないような写真集でInsaの匂いプンプン。Insaサンキュー、これからも沢山ドープな作品作ってくれ!!!

Second package was from Geseho Motor Works and was one of their new Ts. The weight of the T is on point and the crisp graphics set it off... This will definitely be on heavy rotation!!! I think with this type of quality and detail the brand will have a healthy fan base. Thanks and good luck with it yo!

２つ目はGeseho Motor Worksからで新作のTシャツが入っていた。これもまたヤバイ！シャツの生地が良い重さでグラフィックも綺麗な仕上がり、良く出来てる、、、これは即ヘヴィーローテさせて頂きます。このブランドまだ始まったばかりだけどこのクオリティーとディテールなら絶対ファンがつくと思う。シャツありがとうそしてブランドがうまく行くように願ってるyo！

LRG skate demo

Some of the boys from LRG skate team rolled into Mei Foo skate park, so the dusty skateboard and sneakers were put to good use. I hoped for Karl Watson and Chico Brenes to be there, they were not present at the demo!!!! Although the rest of the team skated pretty hard and Rob G was my fav on the day... definitely entertaining to watch!

LRGのスケートチームがメイフースケートパークにやってきたので僕のほこり被ったスケボーとスケシューズがまた大活躍しました。カール・ワットソンとチーコ・ブレネスが来ると思ってたのに楽しみにしてたのに来て無いじゃん!!! でも他のチームメンバーの滑りっぷりは最高で特にRob Gはこの日のナンバーワンだったね、、、見ててマジ面白かった!

Izzue fashion show

Had an opportunity to check out the fashion show for a local design brand called Izzue which a friend is a fashion designer. It was not exactly my style but was good to see some new developments happening in HK fashion scene... Actually they had some Felix the Cat theme, so I'm looking forward to some Felix T's or something... Good job Andrew!!!

先日友達がデザインを担当している香港のローカルブランドIzzue(イズー)のファッションショーをチェックしてきました。スタイル的にはまったく興味が無いのだが香港ファッションシーンで新しいことが起きている事を目に出来て良かった、、、ショーのテーマでフィーリックス・ザ・キャットが使われていたからフィーリックスのシャツか何かあれば良いな、、、アンドリューお見事!!!

Watch This Space at Qubic Store Gallery

Qubic Store is putting a brand new installation in their gallery space and it is looking to be pretty dope!!! The whole process took about a month and the three artists involved, Misery, Elliot Francis Stewart and Askew, are turning it into an impressive piece of work. The opening is at 7pm on 22nd of November and will go on until 2nd of December. If you are in Auckland, New Zealand then it is definitely worth checking out. If not keep your eyes on Qubic Store or Sole Jam...

Geseho

Geseho just launched in Singapore. It is a brand representing the Singaporean street/urban culture and the Fall line gives an idea on the things to come. Strong and bold designs.

Lately we have witnessed births of many mediocre street wear brands with no philosophy or backbone. Merely a copy of the next person or worse biting from the past designs. The scene now is so watered down and saturated that sometimes it is hard to find REAL designers. Good to see Geseho doing their thing and representing their culture, not pretending to be LA or NYC or Tokyo or where ever...

シンガポールでGeseho(ゲセホ、、、多分こう読むと思う)と言うブランドがスタート。このブランドはシンガポールのストリート/アーバンカルチャーをレペゼンしていて秋/冬コレクションでブランドのディレクションが分かると思う。デザインは至って力強くしっかりといている。

最近フィロソフィーや骨の無い様々なストリートウェアと呼ばれているアバウトなブランドの誕生を目撃してきた。ただ他人のコピーや最悪な時は過去のデザインのパクリ等で成り立っている。現在のシーンは既にかなり薄められ、混雑しすぎてREAL(本当)のデザイナーを探すことすら難しい。このGesehoみたいに自分達のカルチャーを築いて好きにやっている事は素晴しいと思う。決してLA、NYC、東京や他の首都から発信しているふりをする必要は全く無い、、、

It was really dope to witness the works of one of my favourite artists Jose Parla and Rostarr in flesh!!! Luckily Jose was kind enough to take a happy snap, so it was definitely worth dropping by the opening night... Thanks Jose, your work is simply impressive! If you ever get a chance to check out his work in real life, don't miss the opportunity cos the texture of his work is amazing!!!

Also Rostarr had a great amount of work too, which was his trademark pattern like style. I didn't really see him around so no happy snaps with him. There were works by Deanne Cheuk and Suitman too on exhibit... All in all, an event well worth checking out.

個人的フェイバリットアーティストJose Parla(ホーゼー・パーラ)とRostarr(ロースター)のドープな作品をチェックしてきました。幸運にホーゼーと写真を撮ることが出来てすごくラッキー！！！ オープニングナイトに行って良かった、、、 マジホーゼーの作品は素晴しい！もし機会があれば彼の作品をチェックする価値は十二分あり、なんてったってペインティングのテクスチャーが凄い！

ロースターの作品も良かったし彼らしいパターンスタイルの作品が多数展示されていました。残念ながら彼は見当たらなかったので記念写真は無し。その他Deanne Cheuk(ディアン・チュック)とSuitman(スーツマン)の作品も展示されていました、、、全体的にこのエクスビションは要チェック。
