The NEW GRAND TOUR Exhibition Part 2

There is an exhibition happening proudly presented by Diesel and Alive Not Dead. To cut the long story short, four NYC artists go to China and get various experiences including cultural exchange, visiting local schools, etc and they exhibit art, sketches and photography from that trip. The artists are my favourites Rostarr and Jose Parla, along with Suitman and Deanne Cheuk. This will be a crackin exhibition so check, check it out!

Diesel(ディーゼル)とAlive Not Dead(アライブ ノット デッド)が手を組んで面白いアートエキシビションをオープンします。コンセプトを簡単に説明すると４人のNYCアーティスト達が中国へ旅に出て受けた刺激や経験を元にアートワーク、スケッチや写真を展示すると言う感じ。そのアーティスト達は俺のフェイバリットアーティストRostarr(ロースター)とJose Parla(ホーゼー パーラ)それとSuitman(スーツマン)とDeanne Cheuk(ディアン チュック)。要チェックなエキシビションなので時間が有ればチェック！

The London Police

Had a stroll in Central (the party and shopping district) and found some art works by one of my favourite artists Flying Fortress and The London Police as well as Pez, Andre and Yok (who is from my home town of Perth, Australia!)

I popped over to check out the Whatiftheworld x Afterschool event and it was very cosy, filled with nice art works... I'm no art expert but some of the pieces were dope! What's up Pokit!

Hong Kong doesn't seem to have a thriving street scene like most big cities... So I am always excited to see a sign of life on the streets! Here are some throw ups I saw while on a bus ride (sorry for the bad pics but bus was moving...)

多くの都市に比べて香港ではまるでストリートカルチャーが存在しないみたい、、、だからかストリートでその証を見るたびに心がワクワクする！バスに乗ってる最中にthrow up(スローアップ)を目撃(最悪な画像だけどバスが動いてたからね、、、)

Whatiftheworld/Gallery x Afterschool

The is an event going on at Afterschool this weekend. I'm a bit lazy to do my own text... :P So below are the details (which is cut n pasted for your viewing pleasure!).

アフタースクールで面白いイベントが今週末に行われます。ちょっと自分で詳細書くの面倒くさいので下記を読んでください。(和訳なしね、、、笑）

AFTER SCHOOL is going to host an event on coming Friday and Saturday (26/27 October 2007), presented by Whatiftheworld/Gallery - which is selected by Contemporary Magazine (London) as one of the Top 50 Emerging Galleries in the world.

About Whatiftheworld/Gallery
Founded in 2005 by Justin Rhodes and Cameron Munro, Whatiftheworld/ began with a small exhibition space in the emerging East City Precinct of Cape Town, South Africa and quickly established itself as a much-needed platform for young and emerging artists.

With the highest degree of sincerity Zander Blom questions the personal relevance and motives of the modernist visual artists before him. How did it feel to be the true "avant-garde"? Moreover, of what personal relevance is Modernism when viewed as a series of cultural movements that stretch back as far as the 1890's? His investigation of modernism is much like a child being presented with a watch, and in order to understand it - he immediately takes it apart.

Throughout the program, young South African artist Zandes Blom will feature a sound album and book launch for Hong Kong.
